Shinju Matsuri is our much loved festival which encapsulates everything that is Broome and the surrounding areas of the Kimberley region.
Featuring an incredible kaleidoscope of events, Shinju Matsuri pays tribute to our heritage and culture as well as showcasing the multitude of phenomenal talent we have up here. So come on over, relax – make yourselves at home and be part of this year’s dazzling Shinju Matsuri Festival!

Makan Dulu –
Literally translating to “Eat First” in the Malaysian community, Makan Dulu encompasses a dazzling feast of Chinese and Malaysian cuisine made by a collaboration of talented Chefs.
Enjoy an all you can eat array Chinese delicacies with a selection of dumplings, bao, wok noodles boxes and Chinese BBQ delights from 6pm! A cash bar of flowing cocktails, wines, beers and soft drinks will be available all night long as you’re entertained by live music.
Floating Lantern Matsuri –
The deeply symbolic Floating Lantern Matsuri event embraces everything about life, love, peace and friendship, providing you with a chance to get your thoughts down in writing and gently send them off onto destinations unknown. Whether your message is personal in memory of a lost loved one, a wish, a prayer or general words of encouragement and happiness for the world – put it on a lantern and watch it commence it’s peaceful, glowing journey on the evening tide.
Long Table Dinner –
Dining experiences don’t come any better or more unique than Shinju Matsuri’s Sunset Long Table Dinner. Soak up the stunning coastal surroundings of the famous Cable Beach whilst being served dishes by Masterchef favourites. Prepare yourselves for a sumptuous food extravaganza featuring authentic dishes from the variety of local cultures which make up the rich tapestry of Broome.
Free flowing beverages are available throughout your gourmet four course menu designed specifically by our celebrity Chef on the night.
